Same amazing concentrate - now inside a home-compostable bag! You may notice that our concentrated powders now have slightly different packaging: a little bag which sits inside our home-compostable box. A complexity of using a home-compostable box is that they can be very fragile, and we want to ensure that these concentrates arrive to you safe, secure, and ready to mix! Of course, the little bags inside are compostable, biodegradable, and made from a renewable plant source. Depending on your region, the packaging you receive may vary as we transition to include the clever little bags. If you have any questions, drop us a line.

1. Pop entire powder contents into a heat-proof jug.
2. Add 320ml (10.82 fl. oz.) of boiling water and mix vigorously with a whisk. Mix until fully melted. For extra creaminess, give it a burst with a stick blender!
3. Allow to cool slightly (don’t leave it too long), then pour into a bottle you already own. It won't thicken up immediately, so leave for an hour or two to reach perfect consistency. Don’t forget to pop a label on it so you don’t mix it up!
4. Once made, use your liquid conditioner within six months.

Store at room temperature. Keep dry, away from moisture, and out of direct sunlight. If stored somewhere cold, we recommend holding it to skin for a few seconds to warm it up so it glides on easily with application.

Use any plastic or aluminum container – it’s best to choose something that is shatter-proof. Even better if it has a pump to make washing a little easier.

Previous formula had better texture

The new variation took longer to dissolve and still left a few chunks in the bottle. It also was more runny than the previous version, but that could be due to the chunks not dissolving completely. I preferred the older formula. I would actually take a knife and shave the bar down before adding the water and it was perfect.

Perfect solution for people who like liquid

This option is great for people who don't like a solid bar but can do this to reduce plastic waste. My daughter doesn't like the "scrubbing" of a solid bar, as she has easily tangled curly hair. This has been the solution for us, and the fact she can participate in making her "special potion" means hair wash day is a lot easier for me as a mum!

Love it!

I blended using my immersion blender, as suggested on the instructions, and have had no problems with clumps. This is my go-to conditioner.

Great conditioner

Was hesitant to try given all of the mixed reviews, but I’m glad I did. I have always loved the wonderbar, but it just takes so long to get it evenly distributed through long and thick hair. I found the preparation instructions to be clear and straightforward for this concentrate and I had no issues; I used a whisk as someone recommended, and I also prepared it in a large, glass measuring cup and store it in a glass pump container, so I wonder if that helps at all? I use the same amount of product as I would with any other liquid conditioner, and I found it performs on par with anything else “middle-high end”. As advertised, it is hydrating but light…plus it detangles well, and has a lovely, gentle citrus scent that goes well with the St. Clements bar, or any grapefruit-scented shampoo (which, as it happens, a lot of other clarifying or scalp-treatment shampoos tend to be!). Will definitely purchase again.
