Sodium benzoate is a preservative. It is combined with gluconolacctone in an ECOCERT-approved preservative system that is safe and effective in the concentrations they occur in our finished products.
It is derived form benzoic acid, which is found in abundance in certain fruit and vegetables such as cranberries.
Sodium benzoate is commonly used as a food and pharmaceutical preservative, as well as a cosmetic one.
